Just a quick note today to let you know that we’ve added two new global locations, Sydney (Oceania) and Singapore (Asia) to our global of points of presence.

Today we’re really excited to announce our API v4 Community Edition. Hooray !

We’ve dug deep into the history vault to grind out some juicy stats about android devices. In this installment we’re comparing Android devices from 2014, 2015 and early 2016. Samsung still rules the Android roost and small screen sizes are on the way out.

This week we’ve released a major update to Handset Detection with new pricing plans and, most importantly, the final round of API v4 updates for Cloud and Ultimate detection. Lets break each of these down to see how they work.

Today we’re thrilled to announce the latest release of our detection software for clients using Express Detection (Javascript). Version 4 contains a major rewrite of our detection engine, faster performance and higher accuracy in cases where HTTP headers do not uniquely identify a device. It also lays the ground work for a range of features we have heading your way shortly.

I find the Asian device market, and emerging markets in general, fascinating. By and large they’ve skipped the desktop and gone straight to mobile devices.

We’ve had the elves hard at work here on assembling another awesome infographic - This one is for Germany, on Android stats collated for October 2014. Interesting 4″ to 5″ screens dominate the market with Samsung devices being the clear choice for Android users.

Android, Trick or Treat ? 🙂  We’ve assembled the numbers on Android in the USA for our October 2014 wrap up. Once again Samsung are dominating the vendor wars. Screen size wise the 4.5 to 5.o inch devices are getting most of the love.
