Nokia has unveiled its new smartphone running Google's Android. It allows discovering and downloading hundreds of thousands of the world's popular Android apps.

Although it runs Google's OS, Nokia has added on its own tile-based interface which looks like the Windows Phone 8 UI. Because the phone's storage leads to Microsoft's cloud, rather than Google's, there is no access to the Google Play store, instead it guides towards Nokia's ring-fenced selection of content. According to the official local release, consumers will be able to access “curated, quality-tested apps” from Nokia's store and have the ability to sideload Android apps from other sources.

Nokia X has a good look and price. It comes with dual sim cards and has a 4 inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Nokia X is powered with a 1GHz Quad Core Processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC and it supports 1GB RAM. The power capacity of 1500 mAh allows for the maximum standby time of 17 days.

Nokia X is now released in India and Malaysia.
