I am unable to useasp.net updatepanel controlwhen the codebehind inherits from the FiftyOne.Framework.Mobile.Page class. Works fine when codebehind inherits from the nativeSystem.Web.Ui.Page class. When using the Mobile.Page class it throws a generic javascript error that "The message received from the server could not be parsed."I am not finding a 51Degrees mobile version of the updatepanel. Does the framework not support the asp.net updatepanel control?

The Framework page base class won't work with the UpdatePanel. At this time Framework does not include a version of the update panel. As the majority of browsers move to support the necessary technologies required by an update panel we'll look to address this in future versions.

??? All browsers support asynchronous callback. I have developed web applications using the update panel or Telerik's AJAX panel that work in IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera. AJAX support is kind of a big deal.

    Tom,
We are looking at adding this in a future version.
The complexity relates to browsers which don’t support the necessary technology and how to handle this failure scenario. We don’t think it would be acceptable for the application not to work. We also want to minimize the page size and ensure great performance.
You can check the AjaxRequestType property and then implement the UpdatePanel on a page derived from the standard ASP web page if you need to use the control. Perhaps present a message to devices which don’t support it explaining what they should do.
    Regards,
    James
