Tablet web traffic overtakes feature phones in emerging markets

With the IDC releasing a report showing the tablet market growing in India and the Middle East, this week 51Degrees take a look at device web traffic from emerging markets (based on the IMF listing).

Mobile Traffic By Device Type From Emerging Markets

IDC research shows that tablet sales in the Middle East and Africa reached 2.25 million in Q1 2013, this is a 184% increase from last years Q1 sales.

Tablet traffic has now overtaken web traffic from feature phones in emerging markets, striking a huge statement about the increase in smart devices in developing countries.

With Smartphones and tablets now allowing emerging markets to browse the web far more easily, will we see a boom in educational services adopting the tablet teaching methods?
