Nokia have managed to go from having 8.37% of the Windows Phone web traffic back in January 2012, to contributing 82.89% in September 2013. This huge shift in Windows Phone market power convinced Microsoft to acquire Nokia, with Microsoft's shareholders approving the acquisition of Nokia's devices and services business for $7.2 billion earlier this month.

HTC have seemingly lost out to the huge rise in Nokia's popularity, losing 42.84% of Windows Phone web share over the last year. With HTC reporting their first ever quarterly loss earlier this year, could the increased popularity of Nokia phones be chipping away at their market share? Or did their flagship HTC One device not sell as well as they had predicted?
