What is the most popular tablet excluding the iPad?

Top 10 most popular alternatives

iPads remain the undisputed leader on the global tablet device market. But what are the most popular tablets besides the iPads? Let's find out.

The above bar chart shows the popularity of tablets (excluding iPads) used for web access in February 2015.

Devices from the Galaxy Tab family of tablets have taken 7 out of 10 positions in the most popular iPad alternatives used for Web access. The table below lists all tablets in order and specifies the percentage of the remaining market share each tablet has (I.e. 6% would represent 6% of the tablet market less iPad share and not the entire market share).

Rank Hardware Name % of the remaining market share
1 Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 WiFi 6.2%
2 Nexus 7 4.1%
3 Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 WiFi 4.1%
4 Galaxy Tab 4 10.2 3.6%
5 Kindle Fire HD 7 (2nd Gen) 3.5%
6 Galaxy Tab 3 WiFi 3.4%
7 Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 WiFi 3.0%
8 Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 WiFi 2.6%
9 Galaxy Note 10.1 WiFi 2.2%
10 Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 3G & WiFi 2.0%

What's interesting is that there is no clear leader behind the iPad with a huge gap in popularity. In fact what we see is hundreds of devices with a small market share.
