We sometimes receive Roku user agents from Google in the format:
    Roku/DVP-9.0 (559.00E04142A),gzip(gfe); (gzip)

51Degrees is detecting it as: Closest Sub Strings Links (2.1 Linux ; )

but if you leave the gzip parts out, such as:
    Roku/DVP-9.0 (559.00E04142A)

Then is gets detected properly as a Roku device. Can you please advise?

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your question. The reason this is detecting erroneously is that we’ve never seen this User-Agent format before across all of our millions of global deployments. In situations like this our system will attempt to perform a match. This can be evidenced on our User-Agent tester where the method given for: https://51degrees.com/resources/use...3b+(gzip).

To resolve your problem we will manually insert the User-Agent you have provided into our database so it will instead resolve as an exact match for the Roku device. I will update this thread once the change is live.

If you have any similar User-Agents incorrectly detecting you can send them directly to support@51degrees.com.

    Thanks,

    Hi Chris,

just to update that the User-Agent is now included in the latest data file. Please download to see the correct detection.

    Kind Regards,
