This is the place to ask any questions about the .NET Mobile API. Topics could cover: 1. How to integrate into existings web sites? 2. The source code and suggestions for modifications. 3. Ideas for future use. Let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

Visual Web Developer 2008 works with all our products.

I've created a sample project that will open and run directly in Visual Web Developer 2008. It's written in Visual Basic. Click here to download.

Notice that the page used to redirect mobile devices to inherits from System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobilePage. The next release of the API will allow any page type to be used to redirect mobile devices to.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

how can I go about using these binaries in a project I wish to distribute? it's a toolkit and one of the features requires that the website detect a mobile device, which I've been able to do using the mobile.dll

I made no modifications to the source code, but I need to know what is required to be able to include this library with my project.

any insight is most appreciated, thanks!

If you're using the mobile.dll included in the open source .NET Mobile API installation this can be used in your project as long as you acknowledge 51degrees.mobi in your licence agreement and ideally installation process and sales/support material. We'd also appreciate knowing more about your project as it may be helpful to us both to include a case study on this web site. This is motivational to us and will inspire us to continue to develop and improve the product.

I hope this helps and let me know if you'd like to discuss further.

    Thanks,

    James
