Today we’re thrilled to announce the latest release of our detection software for clients using Express Detection (Javascript). Version 4 contains a major rewrite of our detection engine, faster performance and higher accuracy in cases where HTTP headers do not uniquely identify a device. It also lays the ground work for a range of features we have heading your way shortly.

To take advantage of v4 high accuracy you will need to adjust your scripts. From //api.handsetdetection.com/sites/js/XXXXX.js to //api.handsetdetection.com/apiv4/js/XXXXX.js (note /sites -> /apiv4), you can grab an updated Javascript snippet from the Site Settings page.

There are a few differences in this update between the previous script and the current one which will impact you if you’re using customer scripts. See our Help Center article or reach out to us in support if you have any questions or issues.

The public API will be updated shortly with API kit updates to follow soon after.
