Support Programmer

Job Title: Support Programmer

Salary: c.£25k

51Degrees Ltd is a rapidly expanding, central Reading based technology company. We are now seeking a support programmer.

51Degrees is the market leading solution for the delivery of high performance highly optimised web experiences to smartphone, tablets, feature phones and TVs. Our open source software written in C, C#, Java, Node.js, Python, Perl and PHP is used by more than 1.5 million web sites including eBay, IBM, Microsoft, T-Mobile and Unilever. We’re genuinely the fastest, most accurate and easy to implement solution available.

We’re looking for a talented programmer with excellent written communication skills to work as part of a focused team to delight developers using our open source solutions with easy to understand documentation and prompt helpful answers to enquiries whether raised directly with us or via social media. The main responsibilities are:

  1. Producing clear documentation for our web site addressing common needs of busy developers.
  2. Answer inbound enquiries via our forums or private ticketing system.
  3. Support the sales process by answering technical enquiries from prospective customers.
  4. Proactively answering questions raised on social media or via 3rd party web sites.
  5. Testing new releases of the open source software.
  6. Developing new features or alterations to the open source APIs based on developer feedback.
  7. Participate in out of hours support rota every 3 weeks.

As a member of the development team you’ll be providing input to the product roadmap.

The role would ideally suit someone with excellent written communication skills and general programming experience one or more of Java, C/C++, C# or PHP. Whilst formal computing qualifications are desirable team work and experience of open source software and the techniques used to assist other developers are essential. Understanding the nature of small growing businesses is vital.

Sales Administrator

Job Title: Sales Administrator

Salary: £26k per annum pro-rata

Job Type: Part time during school hours, requires some evening work

Hours: 3 days per week to fit with sales team

Location: Reading

Reporting to: Global Accounts Manager

51Degrees is a rapidly expanding, central Reading based technology company. Due to the volume of sales we are now experiencing, we are now seeking an experienced Marketing & Sales administrator to support this rapid expansion.

51Degrees is the market leading solution for the delivery of high performance highly optimised web experiences to smartphone, tablets, feature phones and TVs. More than 1.5 million global web sites including eBay, IBM, Microsoft, T-Mobile and Unilever use our fast, accurate and easy to implement solutions.

We're looking for an experienced Sales Administrator to support our rapid growth in renewals and new business. The main responsibilities of the role will be to:

  1. Provide pricing and licencing information to prospective customers via e-mail and telephone.
  2. Process subscription renewals including invoicing and chasing aged debt.
  3. Administering commission payments to affiliates.
  4. Administering bespoke agreements including establishing the agreement and invoicing.

The role would ideally suit a logically minded individual with excellent communication skills, and experience of working in a fast paced tech environment. Knowledge of working with CRM systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics, is vital. A willingness and passion to learn new skills and participate in the rapid expansion stage of a proven UK technology company is expected as is an understanding that this role may suit someone wishing for a gradual return to the workplace. A self-starter with great initiative would be most valued.
